Abingdon Guildhall & Dinckley Court
I was very privileged to be asked to photograph Ian and Christine’s wedding. I knew from our first meeting that we would get along great. Christine was very clear about how she envisaged the day- no drama, no pomp. All her and Ian wanted was a happy, laid-back gathering of their family and closest friends.
It was good to be back at Abingdon Guildhall where I had previously photographed a lovely Winter wedding. Especially because this time I was able to utilise the surrounding gardens, which are beautiful in the Summer.
After the wonderful civil service we hopped aboard a vintage bus and headed to Dinckley Court Hotel where the celebrations, singing and dancing commenced. Dinckley Court is located in Burcot and is nestled in 8 acres of beautiful grounds that gently slope down to the river Thames.
We decided to overlook the traditional shots in favour of a very informal style of photography. A style which I feel perfectly captured this special group of people interacting and really enjoying their day.
You know you’re in love when you don’t want to fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.
“We used Black Albatross Photography for our wedding, and were delighted with the pictures. Matt was great to work with – flexible, reliable, friendly, and he really listened to what we wanted, unlike many photographers I contacted who seemed to just do a particular package. The photographs are exactly as we hoped, and are stunning. There’s a mix of classic and unusual shots, in colour and in black and white, and Matt has captured all the significant moments and the spirit of the day. Fabulous shots of our friends and family, some beautiful portraits and fun relaxed moment. Wonderful!”
